We had a quiet day here at Chez Paula....got our plans and reservations made for time in France and Germany....thanks Jim for the suggestions....
It's sunny today and COOLER....so I decided to try to navigate the DUTCHIE way and ride a bike for the first time in about 20 yrs.... My knee did well but I got a terrible cramp in my right foot....caught my shoe in the pedal and fell over just like the lil guy back in "Laff In" days....but fell into BARBED WIRE....come to Holland and try to fight barbed wire...what's wrong with this picture???? Anyway I am ok.... a bit scratched up and sure I will be SORE in many places tomorrow...we will see if I can ride to town.....
Made it to the Ocean....stopped for a bitter lemon, and some frites and some espresso for Paula and a BEER for Chris.... then got home and had a Chez Paula yummmmmy supper of lamb chops....French style zuccini..
bread butter and fresh radishes....and of course red wine.... We brought her some Amarula from the duty free shoppe in Copenhagen.
Will try again tomorrow to take the time to post pictures.....keep following please and COMMENT....
That bike crash is a bummer Katie. Did you bring Band-Aids?
ReplyDeleteDid you take a dip in the North Sea at Zandvoort? How about the haring? You can't say Tot Ziens to NL without tasting the best food item they have!!!
Stephanie and I had a free dinner at Logan's Roadhouse last night. After waiting a half hour the manager come to the table and said they don't have the ribs I ordered. I was shocked. He offered a free meal. So I had a T-boner and Stephanie had some chicken tenders. I even had a free Sam Adams.
Stephanie is studying the Michelin Green Guide for Paris. She is sort of, um, excited.
I bet it is a wild time in Holland tonight. I wish I was there. Not much work will get done tomorrow.
Ooweeooowee! Poor Katie, sorry about your "crash", but we have all done similar! Back in 2007, on my first day out in West Texas (Marathon/Marfa area - a very long way from a major medical facility)entertaining my friends from England on holiday, I stepped off a three inch ledge abruptly, fell backwards, ended up on the grass staring at the clouds with a dislocated shoulder, and two breaks around the elbow of right arm! Do you think that maybe put a bit of a damper on my vacation with horseback riding and river rafting and jeep rock climbing planned???? At least you didn't break anything, thank goodness! Congrats to the Dutchies and the football win. You are surely enjoying all the wonderful food (it sounds delicious). Have a great time on your future adventures in Germany and France. Have a glass of wine for me! I am really enjoying following your travels.
ReplyDeleteJim...not sure the Dutchies are sobered up yet.... We had a nice ride into town....no crashes today yeah! Wonderful dinner ala Paula....uploaded one picture....and are packed and ready.... Jose' will take us to pick up the rental car and then it's ON THE ROAD AGAIN.....
ReplyDeleteDawnie....back on the "horse" that threw me and had a great ride into town today... another great meal... and ready to check out Paris tomorrow!!!
