Gonna take in a canal tour and the ZOO..... more info and pictures comin' soon. It's a bit cloudy and cool here today with a forecast of more rain.....hope we don't melt!
All your adventures sound so wonderful! I really, really would have enjoyed seeing the tapestries and weavings. I remember seeing the Bayeax Tapestry many years ago. Europe must be having a heat wave. We certainly are down here in Louisiana! Very hot. Anyway, continue to have a good time, and I really enjoy reading your blog...and the photos are great!
Hey Dawnie....thanks for following us.... we had a great time in Amsterdam at the ZOOOOOOO.... you know they say it's all happening at the Zoo I do believe it.... I do believe it's true....good ole Simon and Garfunkle.... it's cool here today we toured a windmill....and rode bikes again....no crashes today but did get my skirt caught in the brakes....yikes!!!! not fun and the skirt looks awful.....laters...
Listen Katie: I am not sure the bicycle is your "cup of tea" so to speak, at least not in a skirt! Were you wearing a skirt when you crashed into the barbed wire???? I am just kidding....I know, I love the long, flowy skirts with their romantic flair...but maybe they don't work too well riding bikes! Back when I lived in New Orleans (years ago), our folk dance group had a performance in the French Quarter, and since finding a parking space was nearly impossible unless one wanted to pay mega bucks for a garage, we all decided to ride our bicycles down to the Quarter. Well, needless to say, the girls had various costume skirts (some long). Thank goodness for a bright young man (who didn't own a car and only rode his bike everywhere), that was astute enough to "warn" the ladies! He recommended that we "pull up - the back of our skirt - to the front and tuck it into our waist bands - then we put pony tail elastics on each leg to keep the wind from billowing the folds. It looked like we were wearing Turkish pants! But it worked - no skirt in spoke damage. Skirts in spokes, scarves in wheels - shades of Isadora Duncan! Mind yourself and the bike, Katie. We would like to see you safe and sound, back in Houston! Have a great few days remaining!
SUre wish you had been around and given me this advice about the skirts....see Dutch gals in skirts all the time the reason I had on a skirt was so I could wear my BRACE.....anyway NO I wasn't wearing a skirt when crashing into barbed wire and I won't be wearing one again today as we set off to play tourist here..... 2 museums and more postings later.....
